The 2005 ACR news industry awards
Guildford Firm Wins Top Industry Award

Space Airconditioning plc, which has been based in Guildford since its foundation in 1980 recently won two top honours in a national awards event.
The 2005 ACR News industry awards gala dinner was held in March at the Birmingham Civic Centre. Space Airconditioning plc, distributors of the market leading Daikin air conditioning systems, won two prestigious industry awards: 'Product Distributor of the Year' and 'Marketing Initiative of the Year' along with a highly commended certificate.
The ACR News Awards is a well-established national competition open to all companies involved in the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (ACR) industry. 10 different award categories pay tribute to companies that demonstrate excellence in their field with outstanding customer service and exceptional innovation. Different from other similar industry events in that it only takes place once every two years and each long awaited category award is fiercely contested.
Receiving the 2005 Product Distributor of the Year award from television personality and comedian Tony Hawks, a proud Neil Afram (Managing Director of Space Air) commented; "It gives us particular pleasure to reclaim this title, having won it in 1999 and 2001. We could not have wished for a higher accolade in our 25th Anniversary year as distributors of Daikin air conditioning products."
In the awards category "Marketing Initiative of the Year" Space Air had also been short listed for their unique presence at the 2004 Ideal Home Show, as sponsors of a fully climate controlled show house in conjunction with the popular TV presenter and interior designer Linda Barker. The Space Air show home featured Daikin Heat Pump (cooling & heating) air conditioning throughout, plus a Heat Recovery Ventilation system and Air Purifiers. In addition to this ambitious undertaking the company also established a web based residential air conditioning enquiry administration system, set up a network of twenty regional residential air conditioning installation specialists and built a new showroom at their Guildford HQ dedicated to residential air conditioning.
All this suitably impressed the judging panel and resulted in the 'Marketing Initiative of the Year' award being presented to Space Air's Marketing and Business Development Manager, Mike Nankivell.
Finally, Space received a highly commended certificate as runners-up for the "Training Initiative of the Year Award" recognising their extensive range of customer training courses including a "Project Managers course", believed to be the only one of its kind in the UK .
A jubilant Neil Afram concluded; "This has been a great evening for Space Airconditioning plc and is testament to our genuine commitment to excellence in everything we do."
